Alltech Indonesia Celebrates the Year of the Horse with Ambassadors

[JAKARTA] – Global animal nutritional and health leader Alltech welcomed ambassadors and some of the key Indonesian feed industry players to a dinner celebrating the Year of the Horse by promoting Alltech’s title sponsorship of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games^™ 2014 to be held in Normandy this August 23^rd – September 7^th, 2014.

“We are delighted to host such a unique event where the Indonesian feed industry and the political decision makers can meet,” said Hery Santoso, general manager, Alltech Indonesia.

The Alltech Indonesia Ambassadors Dinner provided a great opportunity to network with industry leaders and to discuss the future of agriculture and livestock in Indonesia. According to Alltech Global Feed Tonnage Survey 2014, Indonesia is the world’s 15^th largest compound feed producing country with 15 million metric tonnes of feed in 2013. The survey, which has already been referred to by the United Nation’s FAO for policy decisions also showed that compared to the 2012 feed production figures of 13,8million, Indonesia represented an 8% increase last year.

“Indonesia with its 250 million people is one of the most important markets for Alltech. It is crucial for us as well as the whole industry to openly discuss the challenges and the opportunities in the Indonesian agriculture with the local representatives of other countries,” said Matthew Smith, regional director, Alltech Asia-Pacific. “The Alltech Games in Normandy and the fact that 2014 is also the year of the horse in the Chinese astrology gave us a unique platform to initiate such dialogues.” Smith added.
